Jay Seibold [they/she] joined the lab in 2025 and is a current doctoral student in the Joint Ph.D. program for Psychology and Women’s & Gender Studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She earned a B.A. in Psychology with honors, accompanied by a minor in Gender Studies, from UCLA in 2024. Coming directly to the joint-program, they are advised by Dr. Sara McClelland to develop skills in critical feminist methodology—particularly interview methods. Jay’s research investigates how gender is conceptualized, embodied, and enacted. Specifically, they center how gender is shaped by social structures and discourse.
