Spengler wins APA dissertation research grant / by Patrick Grzanka

Elliot Spengler has been awarded a 2019 American Psychological Association Dissertation Research Award from the APA Science Directorate. This nationally competitive award is given annually to provide support to approximately 40 dissertations projects that represent important scientific work by outstanding, science-oriented graduate students. The $1,000 prize will support his dissertation research to develop a model of sexual minority mental health care engagement (i.e., help seeking) that accounts for individual, community, and structural opportunities and barriers to mental health care. This work was also recently honored with a Student/Faculty Research Award grant from The Graduate School at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Congratulations, Elliot!
